Mon May 18, 2009, 12:39 PM
Character Name: Abel Caine Sincry
Age: 23
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Height: 6’2
Weight: 155 lbs
Appearance:
Visual Appearance:
Abel’s face is of youthful characteristics that may reveal exquisiteness to women, but it also portrays an iniquitous side of the once prominent prince to the enemies of war who challenges Abel to contest with a sword. He has a chiseled bone structure for his cheeks and jaw that also add onto the youth of his appearance and has a short yet slightly pointed nose. Abel’s weary eyes that reveal cerulean irises seem to be slightly covered by his eyelids most of the time, showing the signs of fatigue and sleep deprivation that haunts him through his life due to past crises. Some people say that his eyes are mirrors of fate: you could either see passion of love or conquer to death when you glance into his sapphire pools of war. He has black, wavy hair that cascades down to his shoulders and remains soft yet heavy in terms of texture and weight. His eyebrows are thin and camber upwards at the outer tips which also show signs of nobility and self-maintenance in this world of glory and glamour. His body appears gaunt to the naked eye, but divulges astonishing self-discipline in appearance of muscle structure with his critical calisthenics that he endures upon daily. Even though Abel is considered pale, he is deemed charming, handsome, and naturally beautiful which is a key to his success with the females. He has tattoos that are engraved on his back, upper right shoulder, his left pectoral, and on his right arm. (See other for description of tattoos.) Abel Sincry has a hairless face, normal lips that are distinguished as thin yet small, and his ears remain slightly pointy yet normal in size and are both adorn with diamond studs pierced within the lobe and a specially forged crystal damascene stud on his scapha which magnifies the sounds that enter his ear for warfare purposes.
Attire Appearance:
Abel Sincry is embellished with a white cotton button-up shirt that consists of silver and black lining, lacing, and stitching that was sewn by the Iraic tailor of the royal court. The sleeves of the shirt are ruffled and extended to reach the mid-half of his palm while diamante spangles replace the buttons on the front flap as a sign of nobility. Abel is also equipped with a black doublet made of leather, perse, and samite to wear over the shirt and is traced with silver lining and embroidery. The embroidery is that of silver roses upon both shoulders with vines swirling in symmetrical pattern across the front, sides, and back of the doublet. He is also decorated in a black and silver double-breasted surcoat known as a pelisse which resembles that of a trench coat, but instead of a collar it is flooded with gleaming ivory Ermine fur and extends to his ankles. Surcoats were usually sleeveless in the time of Abel Sincry, but Abel had his specially designed with raglan sleeves that reach the end of his wrist for more protection to his arms and for the rough winters that are common in the land of Aeasira. The pelisse is stitched of multiple thick, ornate fabrics such as brocade, chainsil, orphrey, perse, samite, and leather gabardine which are embroidered with fine, damascene armour that bends to his movements. The pelisse is also lighter and less padded than a normal coat in order to fasten armour upon the shoulders, arms, and chest for a soldier’s battle garment to be panoply (complete set of armour) and to allow more agile movement adjusted for swordplay. The coat is also equipped with silver straps and buckles, a black belt across the mid-section, silver embroidery along the flaps, and Ermine fur on the ends of both sleeves. The back of the coat is the kingdom of Impius Ira’s royal insignia which consists of the Sword of Ira hidden behind the Shield of Impius; both being raveled by symmetrical scrollwork of sinuous vines of thorns. Behind the crest is the extended serrated wings of the Iraic Angel with black and white feathers elongated outwards; one pinion holding the Iraic Cross which reveals Ira’s theocratic rule while the other pinion holds the Crown of Impius, indicating the monarchy rule of Impius. His mantle bears the same signature design upon the surcoat but only in reverse color coordination.
War Attire:
Abel Sincry’s warfare armour is known to be luxurious in terms of class and prestigious for its beautiful craft. He wears a majestic burgonet helmet; a sallet crafted to an excellent degree, complete with the silver linings and tint, and tarnished black trimmings and carvings along the mask. Upon the top of the helm is a seven-point crown that reveals his heraldry as the prince. Along the sides of the helmet that jut backwards are the famous Iraic wings without the pinions and are trimmed with black and silver engravings. He is equipped in a Lorica aeliscata, a breastplate made of folded damascene armour coated in silver and adamant sheets of crystal, over his doublet but beneath his surcoat. It resembles armour often worn in 16th century Rome, but with many unique disparities such as the damascene metal he is dressed in and its extraordinary silhouette. The armour that covers the chest is made up of several plates of damascene and reveals scales lined across the boundaries in silver coating to encompass the edges. The metal that covers his abdomen is less-folded and doesn’t have the silver coat; remaining its natural black tint and is the outline an abdomen revealing eight slots. Upon his shoulders are titanium scale pauldrons and spaulders that buckle upon the surcoat and are in the shape of the Iraic pinions that hold the Iraic Cross but within the other pinion the Iraic Crown as he was nobility within Ira, not Impius. Upon his arms are silver vambraces which protect his forearm, damascene couters which protect his elbows, and silver rerebraces that protect his forearm. All three pieces make up the complete cannon of his arm and buckle together in perfection to prevent damage to the main arteries. His hands are protected by scale gauntlets of folded silver that also make up the shape of the Iraic wings and are buckled to the vambrace of his forearm. He sports damascene demi-greaves to protect the lower leg, silver poleyns to protect the kneecaps, and damascene cuisses for his upper leg. His titanium scale boots reach mid-way of his greaves that are coated by sabatons to protect the openings of his boots and contain spurs for when upon horseback. Upon his left shoulder where his pauldron resides is an additional silver plate that covers his breast. The plate is to be known as the Royal Badge, the small portrait of the Impius Ira insignia engraved beautifully to mark the one of a champion.
History:
Impius Ira History:
In order to understand the character, the history of Impius Ira is needed. Some time ago a beautiful kingdom led by two kings, King Ira the XXVII and King Impius the XVIII, glistened from the heaven’s golden tears of the empyrean sky and gave hope to people who resided within the city. The city was Impius Ira. King Impius and King Ira were believed to be the most powerful rulers within the Aeasira, overpowering any kingdom residing within marching distance and only standing for peace and hope. Over the course of years to come, King Impius silently became vitiated; his thought of mind convulsing into pure evil as he then thrived for power. Absolute power. King Ira was away in the seas with his navy, making treaties with island kingdoms when King Impius decided to send his own army to destroy distant kingdoms and to gain power. He succeeded. When King Ira returned to his blest kingdom he was distraught to hear the news, King Impius grew power hungry. Without second thought, he and his majestic army searched for the force responsible for the destruction of distant kingdoms – trying to discover the army led by King Impius himself. They were found; King Impius sitting upon his horse while King Ira did the same. Both forces then collided into one big war, the largest war ever recorded in the history’s archive as debris and dust cloaked the world’s sky for days to come. Finally, the war ended and King Ira stood triumphant. After the war, King Ira dethroned King Impius; banishing him from Impius Ira and to never return ever again. King Impius wasn’t through, though. King Impius and his followers found a large plateau looking over Ira and built their own city, a city in which would be stronger than his old kingdom. From there on out, there were two rivals kingdoms. Impius and Ira.
Abel Sincry’s History:
Abel Sincry was born into royal lineage, the first son of Caine Sincry who was Ira’s most prominent knight. At the age of 8, Abel partook in classes for swordplay and warfare while also took the basic schooling needed in terms of mathematics, literature, history, and other required credentials in the kingdom of Ira. Abel was taught to be a gentleman as well as a man in general, learning never to fear anyone but to respect the people he lived around. He was well-loved by the bourgeoisie, the royal court, and even the peasants as he was a amiable kid, always helping in any way he could and as he got older he was beginning to gain the attention of women in a particularly different measure. At the age of seventeen he could woo a lady off her feet and bed her in a matter of a few words spoken. By the age of eighteen, Abel Sincry was titled the most elite swordsman within the entire Impius Ira kingdom due to his milestone of 100 career competition wins. With this accomplishment, he was sworn into the Knights of Ira, being one of only 16 generals who would now lead forces for their kingdom. Tragically, Caine Sincry died four months after Abel’s beginning as a knight, leaving emotional duress to follow Abel but never interfered with his career. Three years later, Abel Sincry was crowned as the general of all generals and prince of Ira; being King Ira’s right hand leader and since King Ira never brought a child into the world would he become the successor if King Ira would ever die. Abel Sincry led many men into battle and always remained successful, the people praising his reputation echoing within the marble streets of Ira and spreading across the entire land of Aeasira. The panegyric of the people always made him more of an aspirant. On Abel’s 22nd birthday, King Impius had a masquerade ball within the ball room of the castle in celebration of Abel who was like a son to him. People remained hidden in masks and enjoyed the music playing within the pearl room. Happiness led to horrid dismay when the walls then collapsed and troops of an unidentified incursion slaughtered dozens of people residing within the room; including the king. Abel Sincry and the troops of Ira fought for hours against these troops and claimed victory, but grieved over the loss of their beloved king. A few weeks later Abel Sincry was crowned as the new king until the royal, yet corrupted order that acted as the senate of Ira dethroned their new king and placed him within the gallows. He was charged with conspiracy, heresy, and the blame of the king’s death. Months after living in the murky dungeons by shackles, he escaped when about to be executed by the guillotine. He claimed his armour and other clothing and fled from Ira, living the life of a hermit until finding an abandoned home on the outskirts of Winterbourne. He continued his training, gaining his strength and abilities back and will hope to someday become the prestigious king he was supposed to be and to fight the corrupted Elite that now remained the leaders of Ira.
Personality:
Abel Sincry is a very noble warlord, brimming with self-righteousness and glory. Although considered flamboyant in terms of swordplay and a tad feminine due to his fancy dress and his gentle personality; he remains pugnacious upon the battlefield reveals vicious attributes in combat. With the ladies, he is suave and charming; his mischievous grin always loved by the women of this time. He reflected his life from heroism, claimed to be the most acclaimed swordsman known to Aeasira. Respected highly for his intelligence both on and off the field of war, he is claimed to be a savant; a scholar who loves to read and write while his ability to create beautiful plans for war seemed to make him the most prominent leader on the field. Also gregarious, nonchalant, and grandiose; his qualities just seemed to make the perfect gentleman. But, upon battle, his characteristics change to truculent, iniquitous, and very baneful; becoming triumphant in any case of disarray.
Weaknesses:
His weaknesses are the unstable mind he presents, allowing him to be corrupted into doing something against his own will. His loved ones who have died in the past make him very weak when brought up and may cause vicious outbursts. Also, without a shield; he is defenseless when others may have accompanied shields. His throat isn’t protected by a gorget, but that is for Abel to be proficient to move his head more freely. Also, after being tainted and uncrowned, he is easily clouded by deceptive images and may interfere in battle. He doesn’t have protection for his armpit. The inside of his thighs where it meets his pelvis isn’t protected.
Weapon:
Abel Sincry is the beholder of the Iraic Requiem, a majestically crafted Odachi sword forged by Damascene metal, titanium, and pure silver that is exquisite and highly praised by anyone who has heard of its history. The blade is longer than most swords of its kind, reaching 72” inches in length but only 3” inches in width. The quillion of the sword is said to be of true Iraic feathers, never dying and remaining lustrous and rests on titanium crossguards. The pommel is strapped with black leather and silver lining, the grip allowing comfortable touch and allows the holder to have a tight clutch onto the handle. Silver bullion makes up the tassel which is strapped on the pommel. Now at the tip of the sword, a chain is forged and linked to where it connects to the bottom of the pommel; adding many functions to the sword such as ripping limbs from sockets, choking someone if uncooperative, and to add more damage when struck by the magnificent blade. The spine is curved slightly until it reaches the tip; making it identical to a katana. The ivy and thorns of Ira are engraved within the fine metal of the sword’s periphery as the baroque of the blade portrays a story with each signature marking of war. The ricasso bears the emblem of Sincry, the noble Iraic angel adorned in a battle harness and the same sword as the one it is engraved upon.
Other:
He has an older sister, but is living the life of a bourgeois with her husband in the valley. His tattoo on his back is his Iraic Angel’s wings protruding their serrated feathers. On his upper right shoulder on his back is the Sincry emblem. On his right arm is his last name going downwards which reaches his elbow in Old Iraic letters. The tattoo on his pectoral is the Shield of Impius and the Sword of Ira. The Impius Ira Crest.
